Visit to Hartwell Primary School
It was great to be welcomed at Hartwell Primary School by Jac Johnson the Head Teacher who showed me around the school before introducing me to Year 6 pupils who were waiting energetically with a never ending stream of questions! Before our Q&A session, we had a discussion about what an MP does every day and also why we have Guy Fawkes night. At each school I visit some questions are the same but I certainly answered some different ones at Hartwell! I was asked “do I work hard”, have I ever spoken to Rishi Sunak, what does it mean to be in the Cabinet, why did I decide to become an MP, what did I think about Matt Hancock appearing on “ I’m A Celebrity”, what are my hobbies, and what are the future plans for Northampton. I explained that I had a South Northants manifesto which focuses on issues like HS2, getting the relief road for Towcester opened, minimising disruption to residents from the SEGRO SRFI at Junction 15 and also campaigning for the Brackley Community Hospital which has been open for a while now and is a superb asset to local residents. Thank you to all the pupils for all their questions and an enjoyable visit. I also invited them to come and see me and visit Parliament and look forward to welcoming them soon!
