Supporting our Police
Since first standing to be your MP, I have seen the extraordinary efforts taken by Northamptonshire Police to keep our communities safe, and I recently spent a day with the force to show my continued support for their important work. Having spent the day split between Upton and Brackley, I witnessed first-hand the incredible efforts that our Community Officers go through to tackle crime.
First, I met with our Police and Crime Commissioner Stephen Mold, at the Northamptonshire Police Headquarters in Wootton Hall, to discuss the future and effectiveness of policing in South Northamptonshire and I was very encouraged by our conversation.
I then headed to Upton where I spent the morning speaking to local Community Officers (PCSOs) about their important work in engaging with the local community and discussing how I could support them further as the local MP for the area.
Later on in the afternoon we headed to the community Police station in Brackley, where I received a further update on policing in the town and strategy for the future. We then went out into Brackley to patrol and I was delighted to see the excellent relationship between the PCSOs and the community. Community policing is the preventative bedrock which keeps communities together and safe.
I would like to thank everyone involved at Northamptonshire Police for an informative and excellent day which has given me further insight into the day to day work of the Police. The tireless work and contribution of our police officers in responding to some of the most challenging situations is always extraordinary and I am pleased to always give my full support to Northamptonshire Police.
